The new megatrend of splitting powerful applications into free, flexible microservices consolidates this development. Integration intelligence is also increasingly shifting to an independent, higher-level management level - this is where the entire process is coordinated and administered. This new level is also the platform for an innovative, holistic strategy for managing, monitoring and maintaining all infrastructure components. 

With our solution proSystem ISM we have put this strategy into practice. Our Infrastructure Management manages systems, licenses, data and services on the basis of a central lifecycle register. Updates and upgrades are installed automatically, process data are collected seamlessly and distributed in a qualified manner, backups are performed and roll-back options are stored for error cases. Target systems such as CRM solutions, business warehouses and ERP installations receive all the information from the process, whereby condensations and evaluations can be made in advance.

The added value of a holistic infrastructure management is enormous. In heterogeneous structures with a multitude of maintenance partners and processes, system maintenance causes high internal efforts and external costs. If such a complex area is not perfectly administered, significant failure and recourse risks also arise.

Modern IoT infrastructure components at industry 4.0 level are the ideal case for administration by ISM - they have open interfaces and autonomous intelligence with which they actively support the central system. But conventional systems can also be connected by proSystem ISM via standardized interfaces in many cases without any problems. Once the integration is complete, IT departments, service desks and users can take over the continuous management via comfortable tools. Alternatively, this task can be transferred to IT service providers and cloud operators.
